"Whup that trick"

Get'em. Tonight we walked up Post Street, past the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness and made a left. Walked down Van Ness to the AMC 1000. Mind you, this is the same strip of sidewalk I just skated down the evening before to get cash for my delivery. We get to the theatre, 2 gutter punks are hanging out front, smoking cigs as we walk by in hooded sweatshirts. One red and one black.

The movie is bland, my wife hates it. Says it's degrading to women. It is. And it's also not a movie I would recommend for teens. A lot of sex, a lot of romanticizing the pimp lifestyle. And it never really ends, just adds in a turned corner scene where things are looking up for DJay, regardless of all his troubles (jail, a new baby girl, getting shot when he gets out). And what's the deal with DJ UpAllNight, or whatever his name is from MTV's other movies like Road Trip, or Varsity Blues.

It's really unfortunate that MTV, a corporate conglomerate that is sold and traded on the NYSE floor, would pander to youth's most carnal desires to earn a profit. Sex is throughout the movie, with women playing the submissive, abused role, as the PIMPs and the other male characters in the film are always too busy to be bothered. They take their work so seriously that they cannot look up from their toys, or "modes", to acknowledge they're situations.

Watch the movie preview here and tell me what you think.
