No more meetings

Why do people meet, during the day? Is it really necessary to approve an agenda or to follow parliamentary procedures? Did you second that motion? Was it noted in the minutes? Christ man. My head is about to explode, and I have to say sorry to the administrative help who are writing down our inane speeches about housing and audits. Jesus man, this isn't what I ever wanted to do.

And yet I'm deeply entrenched in it. I have workshops to attend, luncheons to schmooze at, and trainings on how to be an adequate supervisor to staff. Holy mother of god, madre de dios, these fucking foot paths I've taken have led me down a hill of pseudo-political activism. So what if the bond money doesn't go to sidewalk improvements? And I don't care about how the MTA board members are appointed. Are these types of SF elections ever going to stir any real human emotions?

Soldiers are dying in Iraq, people are lying on the corners of 16th and Mission, and I'm thinking I'm down with the community because I work in the Western Addition. I'm hardly anything like a G, but tonight, out at 10pm in the Mission, taking the 14 and walking down Valencia, I can say that I think this area needs more social services. With so many service providers doing business in the Mission District, I'm surprised that there aren't more opportunities for jobs and shelter.

.......OK, this is too serious.

Come to my band's show this Sat at Kimo's. Get there by 9pm to see us ROCK!
